Clayton Diving Club members turned out for the 2016 Cleanup Dive. Divers met at the Clayton Village Dock on Riverside Drive at 9 am on Saturday, May 14. The club found lots of trash in the chilly 47 F water. Members on land helped haul it out of the water.

Clayton Christmas Parade Saturday, December 6 This year’s Clayton Diving Club float features Rollie the Flying Penguin from Mary Packers children’s story, “The Christmas Penguin.” Rollie joins Tuxedo Air to bring Families home for the holidays. Dive Club members will direct “Rollie” down the streets of Clayton. Club members are needed to walk with the float and to pass out candy. Help is also needed to assemble Rollie the day of the parade. May 18, 2013, Islander Club Dive

I’m catching up on updating our club website and am starting with the May Islander dive. On May 18, a few intrepid members of the club met to dive The Islander. September 2013 Meeting and Cleanup Dive

September 21 Meeting Saturday, September 21 at 6pm is our monthly meeting held at the Clayton Village Municipal Building (behind the Catholic Church). Our presenter for the night will be Skip Couch. May 2013 Clean-Up Dive

The Clayton Diving Club clean-up dive was a resounding success! Sponsored by the Village of Clayton, Clayton Diving Club, and the Antique Boat Museum and organized by Rod Azar, the clean up saw more than double the participation this year thanks in part to club member Bob Sherwood who brought in more than a dozen divers from his group Northeast Underwater Explorers. Get Ready for the Parade!

Remember last year’s parade? Janet was the Little Mermaid, and other club members drove the truck, gave out candy, carried the club banner, and had lots of fun.

September 12 Glass-Bottom Boat Tour

CDC members are invited to a Clayton glass-bottom boat tour at 6pm on Wednesday, September 12th, followed by a short Clayton Diving Club meeting on the boat. The tour will last two hours. This tour will leave the downtown Clayton aboard the “Night Heron,” Clayton Island Tours’ recently acquired glass-bottom boat. Passengers will visit sites of various sunken vessels, learn about the underwater ecology of the Saint Lawrence River, and pass by historical locations of the Thousand Islands including Rock Island Lighthouse, Thousand Island Park,…
