September 12 Glass-Bottom Boat Tour

CDC members are invited to a Clayton glass-bottom boat tour at 6pm on Wednesday, September 12th, followed by a short Clayton Diving Club meeting on the boat. The tour will last two hours.

This tour will leave the downtown Clayton aboard the “Night Heron,” Clayton Island Tours’ recently acquired glass-bottom boat. Passengers will visit sites of various sunken vessels, learn about the underwater ecology of the Saint Lawrence River, and pass by historical locations of the Thousand Islands including Rock Island Lighthouse, Thousand Island Park, and the Picton Island Granite quarry.

Passengers will be able to peer through the Night Heron’s unique glass bottom to see shipwreck sites, native fish of the St. Lawrence, and other natural wonders beneath the waves of the Saint Lawrence River.

Some snacks and light beverages will be provided, but is is suggested to bring a snack to pass and a beverage of your choice. You might also want to bring a coat as it might be cold on the river.

RSVP’s required, limited seating. Contact Ken Kozin by September 9th with your name and number of guests.
